Cricket World Cup rant

The Proteas lost against New Zealand, where severely criticized, there was some blow up with a caller from the West Indies (who lives in Cape Town) complaining that the team was spotted drinking and getting out of hand right after their loss to New Zealand. The South African nation went mad - well the media went mad with signposts stating that the team was a disgrace and officials where scrambling to put the smackdown on the Protea's. What horse shit!!

When we won against England so convincingly, everything died down, the media dropped most of the articles around this and they focused on what a brilliant team we have.

My blood is green, fail or succeed they are my team and I am their supporter (like in the TV ad). I wish that this country would be a lot more supportive of our sporting representation and that they vocalise their support when we win and when we loose. Isn't that what commitment is - I could get a lot more deeper here and compare our support of the Protea's with the support in a relationship is like. Maybe this parallel is why there is such a high divorce rate, maybe we are getting more and more fickle as time goes by and we only concentrate or want to be associated with success. What message is this sending to our kids and the next generation of supporters.

Wake up South Africa and get behind your team!! OUR BLOOD IS GREEN!!

I hear you on the support vote, not that I know too much about cricket, I was sitting next to an Australian guy on the bus in Vegas and all he was talking to me about was cricket and how well SA is doing, it was too funny.

Anyway on the divorce rate, it's more like wake up world and not just SA, the lack of depth in so many marriages today is what is the problem, and that divorces are so easy to come by, some States here have a 'time out' period of a good year before they will grant you a divorce and sometimes that helps mend the fences but I wish so many more people would take the time to get help if they need it and not take the easy way out, especially if there are kids involved !!!
